Dr. Quirke’s practice is entirely confined to the diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal conditions, for which he see patients on referral only from physicians and other health care practitioners such as podiatrists, midwives and nurse practitioners.
He has been accepted as an expert witness in the area of musculoskeletal trauma and injuries in the Supreme Court of British Columbia since 1982, and his expert opinion has been accepted in many cases, most recently Debou v. Besemer (2014) and Carroll v. Hunter (2014).

Dr. Quirke presents continuing medical education talks on Vancouver’s North Shore dealing with a variety of musculoskeletal and rheumatological issues. He chaired and presented at the first sports medicine day at Lions Gate Hospital and was noted for his grand rounds presentation at Lions Gate Hospital in sports medicine and soft tissue injuries (diagnosis and treatment of whiplash injury).
Recent presentations include a lecture on back pain at the British Columbia College of Family Physicians annual family medicine conference and “Differences Between Specialist and Family Physician Medicolegal Reports,” presented at the Trial Lawyers Association of British Columbia Medical Legal Conference XIII.
