Biography
Dr. Jake Locke is a medical doctor licensed to practise in British Columbia since 1981. He completed medical school training at the University of British Columbia in 1980, worked as a general practitioner in Kelowna, BC, from 1981 – 1988 and then returned for specialty training in psychiatry at the University of British Columbia.
He obtained his fellowship in psychiatry through the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons (Canada) in 1992. He received the new subspecialty designation in child and adolescent psychiatry in 2013. He is a member of the Canadian Psychiatric Association. He was the acting head of psychiatry and psychiatrist-in-chief at Children’s & Women’s Health Centre of British Columbia from 2007 – 2009. He is currently a clinical professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of British Columbia.
