Dr. William Panenka is an assistant professor in the department of psychiatry at the University of British Columbia. He holds a unique dual certification from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in both the specialties of neurology and psychiatry, one of only two such specialists in Western Canada. He is currently a member of the BC neuropsychiatry program with a specific focus on brain injury patients.

He is the medical lead of the neuropsychiatry concussion clinic at UBC and the medical consultant to the Fraser Health concussion clinic. Dr. Panenka also has an active traumatic brain injury research program focused on elucidating imaging and other biomarkers of TBI.
