A recovering medievalist, Kirin has an MPhil from Oxford, where she learned to love not only 1000-year-old manuscripts but also mushy peas and drizzle. (Just kidding: she already loved drizzle from growing up on the North Island.) In addition to academia and rain gear, she has a background in tourism, giving visitors from all over the world a personable and unforgettable experience of Victoria. Horses, reading, and learning new things are some of her greatest loves. Furthermore, as an extremely unskilled hockey player, she believes that just because you aren’t good at something doesn’t mean you shouldn’t have fun trying. All that equipment is so that it doesn’t hurt when you fall down, right?
