Rebecca was born in Sevilla, Spain, and grew up in Oakville, Ontario, where she developed an early love for adventure, Toronto’s theatre culture and competitive dance. Her interest in culture led her to Queen’s University in Kingston, where she graduated with an honours degree in art history and gender studies. After graduating Rebecca provided registrar support to Sheridan College art students before setting for the skies as a flight attendant with Air Canada.
In search of a change in 2020 Rebecca set her sights on Vancouver Island, moved across the country and joined the Reportex team. She ensures smooth operations and performs administrative duties while providing client care for in-house clients at our Victoria office. She is especially proud to be a part of the Reportex culture club and COVID health committee. She believes creating and maintaining client relations is the key to success for Island by Reportex.
Rebecca’s passion for diplomacy emerged after being selected as a cultural exchange ambassador to the city of Neyagawa in Japan. Rebecca has over 15 years’ experience providing customer service excellence in a variety of multifaceted sectors, such as administration, post-secondary education, tourism and the ministry of transportation. She has perfected her client service skills after training at the esteemed Disney Institute in Florida. She is an advocate for occupational heath and safety and has maintained her St. John Ambulance first responder aviation training for over eight years.
In her spare time Rebecca can often be found wandering Victoria with a camera in hand, forest-foraging for flora or working on her latest creative project. She especially enjoys a good cup of coffee (or craft beer!) when she is not wrangling her precocious nephew along the trails of Vancouver Island. She has been a long-time dog walker at the humane society and has spent summers volunteering at Canadian Stage’s Shakespeare in High Park. She is also a supporter of the Dreams Take Flight organization and the Air Canada Foundation’s Every Bit Counts initiative.
She has travelled to over 35 countries (over a hundred times to those in the EU).
