Zinnie was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta, and has loved the written word for as long as she can remember (as a child she could never understand why finding spelling and grammar errors in books, menus and signs exhilarated her!). After graduating from the University of Alberta, Zinnie worked in administration for her local government while starting a family and considering a career in editing. She began taking editing courses through Simon Fraser University and is now delighted to be working as Reportex’s document specialist and copy editor, where she gets to do what she loves every day.
Zinnie currently lives in Beaumont, Alberta, with her husband and three school-aged kids, where she spends her evenings and weekends being a hockey/basketball/dance mom and finding ways to connect with family and friends, all while chasing elusive but highly sought-after moments of solitude.
Zinnie specializes in editing and document production and enjoys tasks that require meticulous attention to detail. She also has strong interpersonal and administrative skills as a result of her extensive background in office administration and customer service.
In her free time Zinnie enjoys reading, listening to music, baking, googling anything that comes to mind and spending time outdoors (biking, walking, gardening or just sitting in the sun).
Zinnie is a huge believer in the Health at Every Size movement and is passionate about encouraging body positivity and acceptance. She also volunteers as the information desk coordinator at her church, where she enjoys meeting and connecting with new people and using her administrative skills to keep things running smoothly.
Zinnie is a proud ambivert (google it!) and self-proclaimed foodie.
